Chroma
In League of Legends, chroma skins are recolored variants of a champion's classic or purchasable skins. Each Chroma is available for purchase either individually for or as a part of a Chroma Pack bundle at a discounted price each. Certain chromas may also go on sale for
2000 or each during the Essence Emporium.
There are currently (as of Patch 13.24) a total of 5,146 chromas in the game, including limited and unavailable chromas.
The first Chroma skins came live with patch V5.8 on April 28, 2015 in Season 2015.
Some chromas are more special than others:
- Some chromas are a part of events and only unlockable through Hextech Crafting and will have special names such as Night Blossom and Emberclaw.
- Ruby: these chromas are only unlockable by buying the chroma bundle.
- Emerald: these chromas (with some exceptions) are a part of the League Partner Program which was implemented alongside the launch of patch V8.20. For more information, see the "Partner Program Chroma" section.
- Mythic: these chromas are unlocked with Mythic Essence and feature recolored visual effects. They are unlocked along with their corresponding summoner icon.
- Paragon: these chromas feature a blue, white, and gold color palette and have recolored visual effects. These are unlocked through the Sanctum and Seasonal Passes.
- Chromas: 24 out of 25 chromas for this skin could only be unlocked by buying their respective icon from the Store.

Chroma Splash Art[edit | edit source]
In the Chinese version of the game, distributed by Tencent, certain chromas are presented in the client as entirely different skins from their original skin variant and its chromas, and they are priced separately and outside of regular chroma bundles. This is an exclusive product sold and produced separately by Tencent within the Tencent client version of the game in China. In essence, these chromas are distinct or modernized realizations of the base skin in a new splash art. After selecting the base skin during Champion Select, these chromas can be swapped to through a separate "Chroma" button which is located higher up on the screen.
This feature does not exist in Riot's distribution, and therefore the LoL Wiki cannot host these splashes. The names of these special chromas will be cited below for reference:
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- The word 'chroma' is Greek for 'color', reflecting how a Chroma is a skin in 'another color'.
- Certain chroma assets will be updated if the parent skin or champion receives a new set of chromas, or if the champion itself receives a visual overhaul. Chromas may also get adjusted or get new assets in order to fix issues and/or errors that were present on the parent skin as well.
