Legend of the Poro King

Legend of the Poro King was a temporary game mode released for the Snowdown Showdown event. Its first appearance was in 2014, and it last ran over the patch V7.24 cycle (December 2017 & January 2018). It was indefinitely removed before the start of Season 2018.

Players fight on the Howling Abyss, with the goal is still to destroy the enemy nexus. Beside that, players try to summon the Poro King to aid sieging.

Summoner spells

When playing the Legend of the Poro King, your regular summoner spells are replaced with two new ones exclusive to this mode, Poro Toss / Poro Dash and To the King!. Unsealed Spellbook does not allow access to regular summoner spells.

Poro Toss / Poro Dash

"Cast Poro Toss once and sling your smaller poro across the Abyss. The range is way, way longer than you expect. And don’t worry, the poros love a good toss. After landing a hit, trigger Poro Toss again to Poro Dash, flying to your poro’s target. It’s like Lee Sin’s Q, but more endearing. Finally, when your team lands ten Poro Tosses, you summon the Poro King."

Poro Toss / Poro Dash

Active: Throws a Poro a long distance, dealing 30 – 200 (based on level) true damage to the first enemy unit hit. Poro Toss can be recast for the next 3 seconds after it hits an enemy to cast Poro Dash.

Recast: Your champion surges into the target struck by Poro Toss while being untargetable. Dashing to the target will reduce Poro Toss' cooldown by 5 seconds.

Poro King

Poro King

The Poro King is benevolent and will aid whichever team has summoned him. He can be dispelled, but only to return again when enough favor has been curried with him. As a tanky siege minion, he brings an impressive power boost to whichever team he's aiding.

Players can also feed him with Snax to trigger his special abilities.

New Items

• Frosted Snax - Shoots a barrage of ice missiles. So cold!
• Super Spicy Snax - This is too hot for Poros, and causes the King to spew fire! Fire is hot... don't touch that!
• Espresso Snax - So... much... caffeine! O_O The King bounces around, knocking back enemies and gaining a shield.
• Rainbow Snax Party Pack! - Snacks for all Poros! Whee! The Poros get so excited for the Snax that they stampede out, pulling any champions in their path.

• While playing this mode, each champion is followed by two poros. These poros change appearance when using one of the new poro summoner icons. For the list of icons, go to Media/Icons tab.
• The summoner spell Poro Toss/ Poro Dash was later implemented on the ARAM mode. The ARAM version spells are called Mark and Dash.

Howling Abyss

The Howling Abyss is a bottomless crevasse located in the coldest, cruelest, part of the Freljord. Legends say that, long ago, a great battle took place here on the narrow bridge spanning this chasm. No one remembers who fought here, or why, but it is said that if you listen carefully to the wind you can still hear the cries of the vanquished tossed howling into the Abyss.

Dash

A dash is a quick movement action by a unit in which they move to a specific direction or location while traversing the intervening distance, ignoring the boundaries of terrain.

The game engine does not take into account the height of the unit; dashes that depict air travel are considered to be on the ground for targeting purposes such as skill-shots.

• Dashes should not be confused with displacement effects, which are usually sourced from enemy units (and are classified as crowd control debuffs).
• Dashes are interrupted by stasis (from an enemy), knockdown, and blinks.
• Dashes are overridden by all move blocks, which includes displacements and other dashes, as well as a few other cases.
• Not all dashes can traverse terrain (e.g. Justice Punch, Searing Charge, Tumble).
• Some dashes gain increased distance when directed through terrain (e.g. Umbral Dash, Perfect Execution, Phantom Undertow).

Untargetable

A unit that is untargetable is an invalid target; it can neither be selected nor hit by most effects. Effects that have already been applied are not invalidated by the unit becoming untargetable, unless they are special-cased to do so.

Becoming untargetable will interrupt acqusition. This also causes non-champions to lose aggro. Many untargetabilities additionally destroy all incoming unit-targeted projectiles.

Spell damage

Spell damage is the damage type dealt by most single target abilities, as well as a select few basic attacks, items and runes. Spell damage is not exclusive to being applied by purely physical, magic or true damage, and instead can be dealt by any of the three damage sub-types.

Many effects are triggered whenever you deal an instance of spell damage. For example:

• Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Liandry's Torment and Luden's Companion.
• Omnivamp and Physical vamp (where applicable) heal for a percentage of damage dealt.
• Arcane Comet's current cooldown is reduced by 20% per instance of spell damage you deal to a champion.

Effects triggered by damage sub-types will occur (e.g. Black Cleaver on instances of Physical damage and Morellonomicon on instances of Magic damage).

Airborne

A unit that is knocked airborne undergoes a forced displacement in a specified direction, to a specific point, or for a set duration at its current location, during which it is also unable to control its movement, declare attacks, cast abilities, activate items or use the summoner spells Flash, Teleport, Hexflash, and Mark / Dash.
Airborne is an immobilizing effect.

Interrupts:	Interrupts attack windups (excluding uncancellable windups), and all channeled and charged abilities. The accompanying displacement overrides all other previous displacements, including dashes and other airborne effects.
Reduction:	The duration of airborne and its forced movement execution time is unaffected by Tenacity.
Resist:	Resisted by crowd control immunity, displacement immunity, and Dr. Mundo's Goes Where He Pleases.
Removal:	The forced movement that is applied alongside airborne effects cannot be removed by cleanses, which innately disables attacking and moving and can be overridden by dashing, blinking or lunging. Cleansing effects, with the exceptions of Milio's Breath of Life, Cleanse, Mikael's Blessing, and Quicksilver, remove the airborne status effect.

Crowd control applied by one's self or an ally cannot be countered in any way, neither reduced in duration, resisted, nor removed unless special cased to do so.

• The crowd control effect may still be cleansed if it is applied as a debuff separate from the originated ability.

Shield

A shield adds hitpoints over the unit's  health that absorbs the next instances of damage in place of actual health. This can be improved by various items and effects depending on the type of shielding.

Incoming shields can trigger bonus effects from Shield Bash. Outgoing shields can trigger bonus effects from Summon Aery, Ardent Censer, and Staff of Flowing Water. Shield reduction effects, exclusively Serpent's Fang, reduce all incoming and outgoing shields.

Legends say the Canghapi tribe were amphibious vastaya who worshiped the coming together of earth and water. Swarm

Swarm is a bullet heaven, 1–4 player PvE game available within League of Legends. Players team up as  Anima Squad fighters to defend humanity and Final City from waves of Primordians. Progress the story to gain access to more Weapons and Upgrades to defeat stronger enemies, unlock new difficulties and fighters, and earn achievements! Each of the four maps ends in an epic Boss Fight.

Magma Chamber

Deep within the obsidian mountain from which the Institute of War is sculpted lies the League's most intense Field of Justice to date: the Magma Chamber. It is one of the largest Fields of Justice found anywhere on Valoran. To that end, teleporting platforms provide champions with the ability to rapidly relocate to strategic points in the arena.

The map never progressed beyond initial development.

Deep within the obsidian mountain from which the Institute of War is sculpted lies the League's most intense Field of Justice to date: the Magma Chamber.

The map has only been used at the All-Star Showdown. A public release was planned for the future but it was later cancelled. Magma "Corridor" is an unofficial name that refers to the 2v2 map, as opposed to the cancelled 5v5 map.
