A born leader, Ina is always ready to heed the call. With a hop and a bounce, it’ll leap into position, accompanying Kai’Sa even into the most dangerous of battles. If Ina finds time in its busy schedule to relax, it loves to sip on boba… but then it’s right back to training and helping Kai’Sa with school work. Ina’s one busy bunny.

Akali always leaves a few noodles at the bottom of the bowl for Umi, even though it pains her to not slurp it clean herself. But that’s what friends are for, right? The two practically live at Noodle Bill’s. If he starts making breakfast ramen, you can bet they’ll be there bright and early, chopsticks at the ready.

A gearhead with a knack for complex engineering, Ekko has gained the power to turn back time... though not quite enough for his liking. Though it may be calculating, Waku certainly isn’t cold. After all, Ekko fabricated his companion with the express purpose of being able to manipulate temporal phenomena, but he didn’t forget to give it a mechanical heart. When thrown, Waku converts into a weapon capable of slowing enemies. Just please don’t hit it with a bat—that really hurts!

Born mute, Sona is a kind, reflective soul who prefers to spend her time in quiet solitude. While she has trouble dealing with crowds and dislikes being out in public when not in her Guardian uniform, she is learning to find her own song in a sea of voices. With her supremely powerful music at her disposal, each self-discovery an operatic movement that will drown out the dark.
Meet her Magical Medium - Chiizu
Sona may be quiet as a mouse—Chiizu is anything but. This talkative critter is known to stretch the truth when it acts as an interpreter for its companion, yet it always has her best interests at heart. Quick tip: if startled it can be calmed down if fed just a crumb of anmitsu.

Unsure of who she is or who she wants to be, Taliyah was at a crossroads long before she took the Star Guardian oath... and now must balance her personal journey with fighting city-destroying monsters. Mousy at school, but brazen and loud in her Guardian uniform, she's learning a lot about herself... and how not to wipe out when surfing across the skyline on a giant wave of starlight.

Aru is still figuring things out, but its enthusiasm overshadows any overt awkwardness. It just wants to be everyone’s friend! Sure, Aru is huggable, but it's also surprisingly athletic. Star-surfing alongside Taliyah is a favorite pastime, kicking up dust and ‘bahhing’ loud for all to hear.
"Not all Star Guardians wear capes. But... I do. I wear a cape."
A Star Guardian duo from another city, Quinn and her familiar Valor are inseparable companions. And a good thing, too, since they carry the hopes and dreams of their hometown along with them. A calculating recon specialist with a knack for guerilla strikes, she brings a new breed of tactics to the fight to save the city... though she might need some time to warm up to all her new, highly enthusiastic squadmates.
Meet her Magical Medium - Valor
Though it’s far from the nest it once called home, Valor remains a vigilant protector of this strange new city. Perched on Quinn’s shoulder, it shares her point of view—and her nostalgia for the days of their youth. Of course, there’s plenty to see (and scout) in Valoran City. But the skies seem just a little bit more gray.

The scion of a well-connected political family, every aspect of Rell’s life was ruthlessly picked apart by her parents – leaving her alienated and unable to make friends. As wild as the girl that tamed him, Sebastien rides into the fray at Rell’s side, a fun-size representation of her rule-breaking attitude. If the fight calls for it, Sebastien transforms into a steed capable of carrying Rell on its back. Sometimes, Rell catches it trying to fit in spaces much too small for its battle-form—it will always be a miniature horse at heart.

Hailing from a sister city along with Quinn, Rell is thriving in the big VC... much to the chagrin of her homeroom instructors. Known for vandalizing school property and beating bullies to a pulp in the halls, she's not easy to get along with and prefers to work alone, especially when riding her mighty steed Sebastien. Yet rumors swirl of a unapologetic manga fan with distinctive hair and a violent temper... though nobody's brave enough to ask about a possible connection.

A ceaselessly joyful Star Guardian famed throughout the cosmos for destroying planet-sized foes, Nilah has given up her jurisdiction over the great expanse of the universe to help out in the fight against Morgana. Bound by her promise to Lux to train and oversee these new, fresh-faced heroes, she relays tales of great victories and legendary opponents to the bright-eyed forces of good... as well as the truth of their oaths, and how to thrive when faced against impossible odds.

Dahlia’s bark is definitely worse than its bite—its tongue gets in the way of any damage those canines could do. Nevertheless, when Nilah’s companion transforms into her mystical blade, it cuts deep. Sentimentality was never Xayah’s strong suit. She prefers to speak with actions rather than words. If Saki could speak—in a language understood by anyone other than the Star Guardians—it would probably call most of the Star Nerds “a bunch of misty-eyed babies” before flying up to Xayah’s shoulder for a wing-bump. A great diss deserves a celebration.

Even after falling and becoming host to Zoe's corruption, Rakan's love for Xayah persisted. Across the universe, he joined her in her quest for vengeance, all the while formulating a plan to purify her heart. Doing so cost him his own sanity, and he fell deeper into a swirling dimension of chaos and destruction. Desperate and heart-broken, Xayah longs to bring Rakan back to the light. Rakan has other plans. Namely: finding a good hair-stylist and practicing his evil villain monologues. Burns this good can't be improvised.

Her attempts to emulate the hypnotic ways in which the body follows the beat of a song improve each day.

Calculating… Tocker is a delightful and curious creature with an extraordinary ability for analytics. Though constructed of metal, it was given life by the same wish that made Orianna human. Tocker’s wish is to choreograph a graceful dance among the stars… and have the confidence to pull it off.

Fans may recognize Treble and Bass as the dynamic duo that provides the beats to Seraphine’s popstar ballads. They also make a great team in combat: when Treble goes high… Bass goes low. Fiddlestick’s power is so great that the area directly around it turns macabre and chessboard-like, as though the world is shifting to match it. And every day, the creature grows stronger.

A mysterious villainess who claims to be an envoy from dark space, Morgana sends monsters rampaging through Valoran City in an attempt to force Akali to fall, fragmenting the Star Guardians and allowing her to destroy them one by one. Convinced that justice and goodness are immutable, single-minded ideas that don’t properly respect the darkness of the universe, she seeks to snuff them out entirely... along with anyone who gets in her way.

Swooping in from the starless sky, Rigel helps Morgana haunt the dreams of Star Guardians. Nothing brings the winged wretch more glee than sealing a Guardian’s fate in darkness. Though batting around their hapless familiars in battle certainly comes in a close second.

A member of Ahri’s original team of Star Guardians, Neeko watched her teammates fall against Zoe’s dark powers, going into hiding when she, too, was thought dead. Revealing herself to the newly assembled Star Guardians at the eve of their greatest battle, the wide-eyed adventurer has vowed that this time, she won’t run.
Meet her Magical Medium - Towa
Towa may be slippery, but that won’t stop Neeko from trying to squeeze it as tight as she can. Towa doesn’t mind, though it covets a simple life of hopping around catching flies to the more adventurous work of Star Guardian-ing. If only Neeko could disguise herself as someone with less responsibility.
"Let's always be friends, Zoe. Always."
A member of the very first group of Star Guardians, alongside Gwen, Syndra, and Harp's best friend Zoe. A brilliant battlefield tactician who was fascinated by logic puzzles, she helped the Guardians win out over darkness again and again... but the cost was great, as the atrocities Harp witnessed over the decades eroded her light, causing her eventual fall. Almost nothing of her original self remained, only raw negative emotion in the form of Fiddlesticks.
Meet her Magical Medium - Geist
Contemplative and calculating, Geist loved chess, checkers, puzzles, and games... especially beating other familiars at them. Its gamesmanship was in another class altogether, though it could be a real stickler for the rules whenever Harp pursued her more complex plans. When she fell, Geist was imprisoned within Fiddlesticks... though now, maybe it's still out there, a last vestige of the Guardian who was.
"It's time we decide our own destiny."
Ahri is a charismatic captain who leads a team of both new and veteran Star Guardians, from the outer edges of the cosmos. Having experienced the pain of losing teammates in the line of duty, she is viciously protective of her “family,” and a strong desire burns within her to ensure no one she cares for ever fades away again. These events have also shaped how she approaches other teams and their captains, especially the less experienced ones like Lux. There's no more room for patience and understanding in her universe—tough love is all that's left. Though that be the case, none are immune to Ahri's own unique charms.
Meet her Magical Medium - Kiko
The mischievous Kiko accompanies Ahri as a vulpine embodiment of her charisma... and sass. Even unprompted, Kiko isn't shy about saying how it really feels, though only Ahri can understand its unique language. As biting as the creature's manners can sometimes be, it's not too proud to turn down a good belly rub and cuddle. Just try to refrain from saying, “Aww.”

A member of Ahri's original team, Miss Fortune is a hot-headed gunslinger, renowned across the galaxy as a monster slayer. Angry at losing comrades, the second-in-command now fights in their memory—not out of a sense of duty, but for vengeance. Even with new members joining the team, she can't forget her past. She is always the first to charge into battle, often ignoring her own safety as long as she can take down every beast in sight. Her short temper often leads to butting heads with teammates who she sees as wasting time when they could be laying waste to the enemy. Despite being scornful of others, the only member of the team Miss Fortune truly holds at a distance is Syndra, who she suspects has less noble reasons for her return.

Boki and Baki are twins born of Sarah Fortune's desire for vengeance, but it's hard to tell by their playful, best-friends-forever demeanor. Where Miss Fortune charges forward with a burning rage, this duo allies with her from a more easygoing perspective. It's no fun watching the bad guys burn if you can't butt-bump about it!

A gentle soul with a mysterious origin among the stars, Soraka protects the team on their perilous missions from behind the frontlines. Despite her fragile appearance, the second-year carries immense healing power, unparalleled by any other Guardian the team has encountered. Her unprecedented command of the Starlight and willingness to put everyone else's needs ahead of hers has earned the team's trust and respect—the ever-humble warrior, Soraka only shyly accepts her responsibility. Like Lulu, she has a special connection to the stars, though she and her team do not fully understand it yet.
Meet her Magical Medium - Shisa
Grumpy and overprotective, Shisa guards Soraka from anything that could threaten her safety, including her own naiveté. The tenacious creature is often frustrated by Soraka's trusting nature, and will throw itself into a fit or sulk for a good while afterwards–although red bean ice cream has been known to cut its tantrum time down by half.

Feared and admired, Syndra is a formidable Star Guardian from an earlier era. Like Janna, her history is cloaked in shadow, but it's clear as day that she is an ambitious warrior who is quick to dismiss those she deems unworthy of her time. Currently, she acts as an advisor on Ahri's team, guiding them away from unforeseen dangers and toward a promising future. Despite Ahri's trust in her, some members have questioned the veteran's true motives and suspect there is no price that Syndra won't pay to achieve her personal goals.
Meet her Magical Mediums - Multi
A triple-manifestation of Syndra's incredible power, Multi represent an array of emotions. These impish orbs make various squeaks, chuckles, and snickers while carrying out the veteran Guardian's will. They never stray too far from her side; she is the center of their little universe, and the only one who can juggle their energy.

Before he was awakened by the First Star, Ezreal was a born explorer with boundless curiosity for the world around him, and becoming a Star Guardian only served to further fuel his appetite for discovery. Now, the universe is his uncharted map, the stars his destinations. As a newcomer to the team, his energy can be both refreshing and annoying to his teammates. The burdens of being a Star Guardian are lost on him—he'd rather focus his energy on solving the exciting mysteries of the galaxy. During the team's travels, he has been known to wander off without notice, but always returning when he is most needed. For the time being, though, a certain pink-haired Guardian from another team has caught his attention...
Meet his Magical Medium - Yuuto
Yuuto is a mirror of Ezreal's youthful wanderlust, though it prefers to witness their travels from inside the explorer's gauntlet. But when out in the open, the feline freely roams the skies, serving as a valuable scout. It can also fuse with Ezreal to grant him angelic wings and the power of flight, which often leaves an impression on the ladies.

Cheerful, courageous, and just a bit clumsy, Lux shines the brightest among her Star Guardian team as its captain. While young and inexperienced compared to teammates like Janna, the pink-haired teen's optimism inspires others in the face of an unkind—but in her eyes, noble—destiny. Protecting the universe is a responsibility that Lux is committed to, even if she doesn't fully realize the gravity of it just yet. There are many challenges ahead on her journey to becoming a strong leader worthy of the First Star's call. For now, Lux truly believes that as long as they fight together, there is no darkness they can't overcome.

While some Guardians' unique power manifests in a magical creature, others hone their innate powers into weapons. Lux's selfless nature and purity of purpose are channeled into an ever-glowing staff blessed by the Starlight. With enough coaxing from Lux, it can also draw out a sweet, long-eared companion named Mimi.
"Starlight, schmarlight. Just point me toward stuff to blow up!"
There are Star Guardians who solemnly and respectfully hold to their duty to defend the cosmos... and then there is Jinx. When the First Star imbued her with the power of Starlight, the cynical teen rebelled, refusing to treat her powers as anything more than a plaything to serve her own interests. Even now, this selfishness causes her to repeatedly clash with her teammates, who can't understand why such an explosive soul was chosen to serve the order. While Jinx scoffs at protecting a world she doesn't trust, she does believe in her childhood friend Lux—and if someone could see into the depths of Jinx's heart, they'd see a furious, burning need to keep those she holds dear out of harm's way, at any cost.
Meet her Magical Mediums - Kuro & Shiro
Creatures known to transform into physical weapons, Kuro and Shiro are Jinx's willing tools of mayhem. Kuro is ferocious and adores all things colorful, explosive, and glittery. Shiro's blank expression masks a truly disturbed soul; Jinx recalls only ever seeing Shiro's strange grin in the aftermath of one particularly savage fight.

A veteran Star Guardian, Janna now mentors the young and impressionable Lux. This seasoned Guardian rarely offers information about her mysterious past, and often seems preoccupied with memories of another place and time in her life. While distant and soft-spoken, Janna is the wisest of her team, holding a wealth of knowledge about their greater purpose and gently guiding them towards true understanding. Her poise and quiet strength are deeply admired by her teammates, and even Jinx can't ignore the respect that her presence commands.
Meet her Magical Medium - Zephyr
Of those who know Janna, Zephyr is her oldest friend and confidant. It often glides around her, emanating a soothing glow that calms allies in the midst of even the most chaotic battle. While other magical companions on its team exude energy and whimsy, Zephyr's quiet and unassuming nature serves as a counterbalance to keep the group in harmony.
"I'm a soldier, not a savior. Now get out of my way—I've got work to do."
No one takes their Star Guardian responsibilities more seriously than Poppy. A fierce warrior with an even fiercer personality, Poppy wields her hammer judiciously and frowns heavily upon any Star Guardian who is doubtful (or in Jinx's case, flippant) about the call of the First Star. While she doesn't see herself as a hero, she is often the first Guardian on the battle lines, ready to put her duty before everything else. Her no-nonsense attitude carries her team along, especially at times of indecision. To Poppy, the universe is black and white: you're either here to smash anything that threatens the
sanctity of the cosmos, or you're getting smashed.
Meet her Magical Medium - Light's Hammer
Poppy found a loyal companion in the form of a trusty weapon, and her bravery and intense desire to do good are now bound in the weight of her winged hammer. Only Poppy can wield it; if the Hammer of Light had feet, it would stubbornly dig its heels into the ground, rejecting anyone else who dared try to carry it.

The youngest member of Lux's team, Lulu is an odd but gifted second-year at Valoran High School. Her unique relationship with the Starlight, the source of every Star Guardian's power, lets her communicate with it like a close companion. To Lulu, this inner world is the most wondrous place, and anything outside of it is not as interesting. Because of her fascination with the Starlight, outwardly she may appear unconcerned with the gravity of her responsibilities. This whimsical behavior is puzzling to some teammates, but they accept her and all her eccentricities. At the end of the day, Lulu can be counted on to support her team—and let them know that the light supports them, too.
Meet her Magical Medium - Pix
Pix has been with Lulu since long before the whimsical youth joined the Star Guardians... or so she claims. A golden ball keeps the bubbly creature afloat, though Pix can also fly by flapping its long ears. It loves food that tastes green.
Together with some familiar faces, a new generation of Star Guardians ascend to battle a looming threat. But even when confronted with eternal darkness, their hope burns brighter than fear.
Xayah's search for Star Guardian allies brings her to, of all places, a concert in the park. Is this bubbly popstar with a penchant for glitter the teammates she's been looking for?
Months later, some familiar faces from Xayah’s past appear during the heat of battle. Her team may be stronger than ever, but what if Rakan doesn’t want to be saved?
Final showdown! The Guardians have played all their cards, but something in Xayah tells her to keep fighting—she’ll find a way to redeem Rakan or die (again) trying.

In the final against Morgana, it is revealed that she was a servant of the Dark Star, an enemy of the First Star.

Syndra's declares that her time as a hero is over and leaves Earth. She plans to return one day, as an enemy.
In the epilogue of Another Sky, it is revealed that she is an agent of the Dark Star and hides its power behind her eyepatch.
Lux has no doubt that if her team were to merge with Ahri's team, Ahri would lead. She hopes she could be a lieutenant like Miss Fortune.[1]
Every Star Guardian has a familiar spirit accompanying them. Some familiars transform into the Guardians' weapons, while others simply assist them in channeling spells and abilities. Their roles are to keep their respective guardian in line.
The more familiars a guardian has, the messier and more inclined they are to step out of line.
"Chaotic" Guardians frequently have their familiar spirits present in their animal forms:
Chiizu is the only familiar spirit who can speak like a person, since Sona is mute, and always ends up misinterpreting what she is trying to say through her gestures.
It acts as her Sleepy Trouble Bubble and her second cast of Paddle Star. Ran also acts as Zoe's yo-yo in one of her walking animations.
Ran is inspired by Tokyo Mew Mew's infusers, jellyfish-like aliens that turn living creatures into monsters. Ran serves a similar purpose, acting as Zoe's corrupting bubble.
Orderly Guardians have their familiar spirits frequently present in their weapon forms:
Star Guardian Xayah and Star Guardian Rakan feed their familiars with other Star Guardian Gems. The familiars also have their corrupted form. It is unknown whether being corrupted changes their diet.
Ezreal was the first male Guardian skin released, but there were previous male Guardians that came before him, such as Rakan and Akshan.
Each Star Guardian Season / Group has its own type of gem.
Season 1 and Lux's team have a five-pointed star gem.
Despite having the five-pointed star gem like the rest of her teammates, Janna originates from an older Star Guardian team.
She knows about Syndra's past but keeps it secret from everyone else.
Season 2 and Ahri's team have a four-pointed star gem.
Ahri's original team consisted of Miss Fortune, Neeko, Rakan, and Xayah. Zoe has corrupted Rakan and Xayah, but Neeko escaped corruption, biding her time and waiting for a chance to free them from Zoe.[3]
In A New Horizon, Ahri is seen keeping three star gemstones belonging to fallen Guardians; yellow, mint and blue. They all share the four-pointed star symbol of her team. In 2019, it was revealed that these were the gems of Neeko, Rakan and Xayah.
Neeko cloned her gem to fake her death and hide from Zoe.[4]
During development, Ezreal used to have a five-pointed star symbol because of his backstory. It was revised and went back to the four-pointed star design.
Soraka has an eight-pointed star symbol. This could imply she may came from another team. This is later explored in The Slumber Party Summoning story. She is the only one who can "remember a time when the First Light was whole" while others cannot.
Syndra's star gem curves inward, while her team symbol curves outward. This might be an indication of her darker past. As referenced by Xayah and later confirmed, she has a history with Zoe, who possesses a similarly shaped star gem. Syndra also covers one of her eyes, possibly because it shows a sign of corruption, akin to the corrupted Star Guardians. During her transformation sequence, she also hides inside Multi, likely for the same reason.
At the end of Another Sky, Syndra reveals that she has been hiding the power of the Dark Star beneath her eye patch.
Season 3 and the corrupted guardians have a four-pointed star gem with corrupted colors.
Rakan and Xayah have the same type of star gem as Syndra and Zoe due to being corrupted guardians after their resurrection by Zoe.
When Rakan or Xayah die, their familiar picks up their gem. They are also seen to be revived from the gem. It is unknown if any other Star Guardian can be revived this way.
Season 4's Guardians feature a greater diversity of gems.
Some of Kai'Sa's team members have non-star-shaped gems.
Xayah's new team have more traditional, star-shaped gems.
The power that corrupted the fallen Star Guardians is from the Event Horizon universe, specifically some corrupted Cosmic entity.[5] The First Star is implied to have some history with it.
The Pajama Guardians wear onesies of their familiars.
While not part of the universe, Urgot is a big fan of the Star Guardians, existing as an anime in his universe, and wears a cosplay based on Star Guardian Ezreal.
Ahri, Jinx, Rakan, and Xayah all have unique quotes towards Urgot telling him that he is not Star Guardian material.

The burst deals magic damage and briefly inflicts drowsy, which gradually slows them. Afterwards, the target falls asleep for a short time, during which they cannot act.
If the target is attacked during Sleep by an enemy champion, large monster, or turret, they wake up and take bonus true damage equal to the attack, up to a cap.
