RegionEvery card in Legends of Runeterra is sorted into a region based off a canon region of 
Runeterra. Cards within a region tend to share mechanics such as certain keywords and tend to synergise well with each other, and combining cards from different regions can lead to unique synergies and playstyles, with their own strengths and weaknesses. Game Modes and deckbuilding rules have specific restrictions on the number of regions that can be in a deck.
ManaMana is the primary resource used to play cards in Legends of Runeterra.
Play is the act of playing a card by manually dragging it from your hand to the board.
Some units have Play effects, which are optional effects that occur when they are played. Note that this is distinct from "When I'm summoned" effects: unlike "When I'm summoned" effects, Play effects do not trigger if a card is summoned another way.
Something that applies everywhere applies to all instances of the specified card that exist or could ever exist that game, living, dead, in hand, in deck, in play, not yet created, in discard. No matter what, this effect applies to them. Although, the effect will only apply once to every card, and can be removed through normal effects that remove other card effects, like 
Capturing units, 
Silencing units or units Dying.
ImpactWhile 
attacking, each time the unit with Impact 
strikes (by combat or with Strike effects, such as 2 Single Combat), it deals combat damage to the enemy 
Nexus equal to the Impact it owns, all at once.
Impact damage does NOT count as 
Nexus Strike, if the unit survived, Impact damage benefits from 
Lifesteal.

SpellShield Units with SpellShield is immune to all effects of the next SINGLE enemy spell or skill that affects them. Removed when the unit is affected by an enemy spell or skill.
The effects (or the rest effects) that have affected SpellShield units are still working as normal (it's just that they don't affect SpellShield units). For example: 2 Vile Feast on SpellShield unit still summons a 1 Spiderling; OR 5 Tri-beam Improbulator still summons a unit.
If multiple spells or skills interact, SpellShield will take effect before 
Barrier.

Level UpLevel Up is a keyword that causes a 
champion card, and all copies of them, to transform into an upgraded version of itself instantly, playing an animation, keeping all effects applied to it and damage taken and counting as the same unit. The vast majority of Champions gain improved stats (most often, an increase of 1 in both Power and Health) when they Level Up, in addition to new/improved effects and keywords.
PowerDictates the damage a unit does in combat, whether attacking or defending. This value can be changed through various cards temporarily or permanently, but each card has a default Power that it returns to if effects are removed.
Collectible cards always have a Rarity gem at the bottom. Most effects which activate 
Random can only create Collectible cards.
Burst spells resolve instantaneously after being committed.They can be committed at any time during the user's turn. They are added to the stack, but resolve instantaneously during the turn they are committed, so functionally aren't. They commit as soon as any required targets/choices are declared.
SeeA unit sees an action happen if it is on the board when it happens.
Unit card Champion or a 
Follower card. A unit card can be played by spending 
Mana equal to its cost, and fulfilling any additional conditions in the card text, which summons it. A unit has a Cost, 
Power and 
Health. A unit can also have additional card text that has its own effects, usually only when the unit is alive.Ally in card text refers to an allied unit. Enemy in card text refers to one of your opponent's units.
Spells
speed of a spell dictates when it can be played, and whether the opponent can respond.
The Spell Stack: Once one or more Fast or Slow spells have been played, it can be responded / reacted to by the opponent with one or more Fast or Burst spells. Fast spells played are added to the stack, where the most recent one placed is the first to resolve. Once the response is confirmed by pressing the Button, the opponent has a chance to react, and this continues until both players pass. Only 10 spells can be on the stack at once, and the 10th spell may only be Burst.
Skill spell-like card that can be committed by a unit. Goes on the Spell Stack like a Fast or Slow spell.
Skills are committed to enact a unit's card text in a way that can be reacted to. If card text creates a Skill, there will usually be an 
icon before the text to indicate this.
The text of skills is usually written as if it's on the unit itself, but they count as their own card. In particular, damage dealt by a skill is not dealt by the generating unit.
- Examples of this are when a unit is dragged into the Attack or
Block position, or when a spell is dragged onto the board. - When a spell is declared, then undeclared, it's placed in the rightmost position in the hand.
- When an attack or block is declared, then undeclared, the unit(s) are placed in the rightmost position on the board.
Death unit is reduced to 0 Health or is otherwise killed, it is removed from play.Effects that specifically kill a unit go through
Barrier.
Killed units are added to a list of units that have died in the game, which the game interacts with in various ways. Multiple copies of a unit can be on this list.
A unit killing another refers to it reducing another's Health to 0 with a Strike or with its own card text.
Skills generated by the text don't count as the same card and therefore do not count as killing for this purpose. See Skill.
