Base gate
- For other uses of "gate", see Gate.

Base gates are a map feature found on Summoner's Rift that only allows one team to cross through them and forbids the other. Two such gates exist per team, creating entrances to the jungle: one is at the midpoint of the top-to-middle base wall, and the other one at the midpoint of the middle-to-bottom base wall.
A team's champions may pass through their own base's gates in either direction, as if it were open space. The enemy base's gates are treated as impassable terrain for both movement and abilities.
Base gates were introduced in patch V5.1.
Interactions[edit | edit source]
The following section lists other specific interactions with base gates and excludes specific mechanics related to the champion being played treating base gates as terrain (enemy gates) or lack of terrain (ally gates) for their own pathfinding and/or targeting purposes (e.g.

- These abilities will always activate their terrain effects regardless of the alignment of the gate relative to the user.
- (note)) (also, Akshan may be forced through a gate if swinging close to it, regardless of colliding with the nearby base wall

- Lastly, traps cannot be placed inside a gate, own or enemy, under any circumstance.
