Tereshni is a port city located in northern Shurima, currently controlled by Noxus.
Lore[edit | edit source]

Formerly a Shuriman port city, Tereshni was part of the
Medarda provinces of
Noxus. Under Steward Ta'Fik, the city was most famous for its production of Shuriman blood glass, also known as "azirite."[1]

History[edit | edit source]
Reign of Ta'Fik[edit | edit source]
Ta'Fik Medarda, the grandson of Hostlord Menelik of the Medarda clan, was made the
Noxian steward of Tereshni at some point after the death of his sister Zoya. Ta'Fik benefited greatly from the city's lucrative azirite production, in large part due to his skills at managing the city's banks and negotiating trade agreements with the
Shuriman warlords of the Great Sai, diplomats from Nazumah, and Shakkal raiders. At some point, Ta'Fik's azirite foundries were invaded by Shuriman rebels who took a number of his mages hostage. Ta'Fik sent his eldest daughter Gintara to handle the situation, and her warband easily rescued the hostages and crushed the rebellion.
Towards the start of the Medarda civil war, Ta'Fik made a deal with the Black Rose, who granted him the support of two of their best mages: Inyene and Rudo. Inyene, a
hemomancer, became Ta'Fik's most trusted advisor, and he tasked them with developing magical runes capable of enhancing the power of his soldiers. Inyene helped Ta'Fik to renegotiate azirite deals with Shuriman warlords. Ta'Fik also entered into talks with
Piltover to renegotiate debts on the Sun Gates. These actions were all made in preparation of a complete takeover of House Medarda, as Hostlord Menelik was growing old and still had not named an heir. Unbeknownst to Ta'Fik, the Black Rose had only chosen to support him because he seemed easier to manipulate than the other candidate to succeed Menelik, . Ta'Fik blamed both Ambessa and Menelik for the death of his sister, and he began plotting to get revenge on them both.[1]
Medarda Civil War[edit | edit source]
- Main article: Ambessa: Chosen of the Wolf
At Ta'Fik's request, Menelik agreed to participate in a campaign near Bel'zhun which resulted in a severe battle wound that landed the old man on his deathbed. Ta'Fik was one of the first to arrive in Bel'zhun's Medarda compound, where he quickly made deals with the representatives from Kilgrove and Trannit to ensure they entered an alliance with Tereshni. By the time returned from a successful campaign in Kumangra, several of the Medarda stewards had already rallied against her, and when Menelik died before naming a successor, Ambessa fled the city under the cover of black powder explosions that prevented Ta'Fik's pursuit. Ta'Fik returned to Tereshni, leaving his youngest daughter Tivadar behind in Bel'zhun.
At the Black Rose laboratory, Inyene was still working on developing "flesh runes", which could empower human soldiers with painful side effects. After the process had been further developed to mitigate the side effects, Ta'Fik empowered many of his soldiers, including his eldest daughter Gintara and her warband, to be ready for an invasion of Rokrund. Inyene and Rudo began work on their next project under orders from the , which involved stealing the magic of one mage and using it to power another in a process that became known as "nullification," and the results proved so brutal that Rudo left the project altogether. As Inyene was experimenting on new subjects kidnapped from Bel'zhun, Ta'Fik traveled to the Immortal Bastion to seek the support of , which he hoped to gain by offering rune-soldiers to assist in the invasion of
Ionia. To Ta'Fik's irritation, Ambessa had also made it there and managed to win Darkwill's favor by gifting him a vastaya, who held information that Ta'Fik was unable to get a hold of.
In the latter stages of the war, Ta'Fik sent a letter to Tivadar ordering her to kill Ambessa's daughter
, but she refused. Ta'Fik also learned that Gintara's assault on Rokrund Citadel had failed and that she had been killed. Before long, Ambessa and her allies infiltrated Ta'Fik's palace in Tereshni with Tivadar's help, with Ta'Fik and Inyene both being killed in the confrontation. Afterward, Ambessa killed Tivadar as well, ending Ta'Fik's bloodline. She and her lieutenant found Inyene's laboratory and burned their research; an act which had little consequence, as the Black Rose had already kept separate records and subsequently declared war on the Medarda name.It is unknown who succeeded Ta'Fik as steward of Tereshni.
