About Me[edit | edit source]
I am Drakenfolk, a main botlaner from Germany, playing League of Legends since 2012 now.
Why I am Here[edit | edit source]
I tumbled over this page some time ago while I was looking for guides on how to play some Champions. Already using solomid and mobafire as references, I was quite unsatisfied with some advice given on those pages. In additon, I love to know more about the characters and background of my favorite Champions and I adore concept and skin art.
So now I am here, getting my information from LoL Wiki for quite a time now and came across some minor typos, misleading texts and outdated information. I wanted to make LoL Wiki a better and more reliable website and joining people already doing so. And I want to be part of this knowledge database around this awesome game. I try to bring in my own experience and knowledge, hoping that the community will appreciate it (although my English is not the best)
So that's why I am here.
The Gaming Experience[edit | edit source]
- Server
I am playing on Europe West (EUW) right now, experiencing the unstability and bugs as well as the community... But that's my home after all and I can't say I wouldn't enjoy playing there. Having my friends around makes it a fantastic server and I really can't wait until Riot Games puts more effort into it. Still a long way to go, dear fellows...
- Lane
When I started out playing LoL, there wasn't any doubt I would play a ranged DPS champion, since this is my all-time preferred class in any fantasy MMORPG. I realized soon that LoL isn't a random MMORPG and I had quite a hard time learning how to be effective with Marksmen. While playing with my friends, I soon switched into the support role, which makes it easier to learn the game (and the others would flame me less, making it a overall more enjoyable time) I really couldn't get used to top, mid or jungle. Those are the roles picked the most though and I really didn't want to battle me with all the other summoners for who can go mid now.
Now I am quite a decent ADC or Support, IMHO. Going mid sometimes, too. But after all, I am just happy with dealing high DPS from a distance. Or tanking all the damage while my team punches the enemies into the floor and keeping my teammates alive with awesome abilities.
Champions[edit | edit source]
I still remember the first time playing Leona. I had played, like, 30 games in total and picked her because I really liked her style. Fully armored sun knight, having a lot of stunning abilities. In game, I soon realized I couldn't play her effectively and had no fun with her kit. How am I even supposed to hit with this E? I abandoned her.
Time had passed, I had played about 200 games and decided to give it a try again. And I fell in love! Today, I think she is absolutely stunning and amazing and I really can't imagine a support life without her. She is unbelievable strong (if played correctly) as a support as well as in the jungle or top lane. Awesome kit combined with awesome design - and my main for such a long time now. She even got the first spot in my Champions section!
Skin: because of this awesome armor and beautiful red applications.
Love at first sight. As a teaser, Riot showed concept art of a woman with an awesome giant eagle, feathers, and a journal. As a bird fan, I was really looking forward to her release and counted the days until I could finally play her. She was the first champion I ever bought on release day for the full price of 7800 (I think she was the first one who came with that price category) And I enjoyed playing her.
But I had a hard time in the beginning. People thought she was weak, useless, ugly, and sometimes they dodged queue as soon as they realized I was really going to pick Quinn. But I kept going and enjoyed the games with her. She was and still is unbelievable strong and mobile and as time passed, people began to realize that she is a viable pick. I went a long and hard way with her - and since the very beginning, she and her bird will forever be on my side as an awesome ADC or assassin.
Skin: because it's just badass!
