The noble houses of Noxus are the aristocratic families that have existed since the first walls were raised around Noxus, and lead lives of privilege as they play a key role in the empire's politics. They believed that their proud heritage was the nation's greatest strength, but many hungered for greater influence, plotting against Boram Darkwill with a secret cabal united by nothing more than the symbol of a black rose. Old noble families still wield considerable power at the heart of the empire.
House Canwell is a noble family that fell out of favor during the reign of Boram Darkwill and was forced to move to the slums of Bel'zhun. There, they would continue to attend high society parties using Rell's prize money from the local Reckoner Arena.
House Du Couteau was one of the old noble families that rules one of the largest assassin guilds in Noxus. It has historic ties to the Black Rose as its previous matron, Soreana, is secretly part of the cabal. Its previous patron, Marcus, has used the cabals aid in an attempt to assassinate Swain. After the failed attempt on Swain's life, the remaining members fled to Shurima, with the exception of Katarina. Taking her father's place, she assumed the role of matron and pledged her loyalty to Swain.
House Garnth is one of the noble families that remained loyal to House Darkwill, even after the coup. The most notorious members were stripped of their possessions and two of its members were later killed in attempts of revenge, one of those attempts being linked to LeBlanc's schemings.
House Kythera-Zaavan is a union of two noble families, Kythera and Zaavan. House Kythera is one of the most ancient Noxian houses, having suffered a succession crisis shortly after the empire's founding when Lord Kythera died with no children, and the nieces and nephews killed each other until no one remained. House Zaavan, which was heavily connected to the Black Rose, was usurped by Elise Kythera after her husband by arranged marriage, Berholdt Zaavan, poisoned her at the dinner table. Elise stabbed her husband and became the leader of both houses, a position she retains in the present day. Elise uses her status to serve the pale woman, hosting events like the Silken Danse in her manor for the cabal's benefit.
House Swain is one of the old noble houses in Noxus. It historically had ties to the Black Rose. However, most of its members were executed after Jericho exposed them for plotting against the empire.
House Tewain is the noble family responsible for gaining favor of numerous Minotaur clans before claiming Basilich. Its matron was killed by Alistar, who rejected the alliance.
