In addition to Latin American cultures, Milio was also inspired by various childrens' animated films and series such as Encanto, Pokemon, and Avatar: The Last Airbender.^[3]

Milio's name is a variant of the name of Latin origin Emilio (from the Roman word Aemilius, from Aemulus; and from the Greek word Αιμίλιος Aimilios), meaning "kind" and "affectionate".

The "plant lady", "one rock", and "big cat" refers to Zyra, Malphite, and Rengar, respectively.
"We did it! Yeah!" could be a reference to the celebratory song from the children's series Dora the Explorer.
